Mechanical Engineering distinguishes itself by its scope and versatility. Its universe includes the design, development and construction of diverse machinery, equipment and systems–both mechanical and thermal. Maintenance procedures, the coordination and management of industrial processes are also included within its domain.
The BSc in Mechanical Engineering provides adequate training for a profession of mechanical engineer. Throughout the degree, students acquire knowledge and skills for the design and development of mechanical and thermal products, processes and systems; for machines, tools and industrial systems operations; for analysis and improvement of productive and information systems; and for the innovation in the field of automation.
Graduates in Mechanical Engineering can develop several activities concerning project, design and maintenance of machinery and equipment; process control of mechanical and thermal systems; operations management; logistics; industrial quality; environment and safety; among other opportunities.
