The 'Wooden Bridges Challenge' is to design, calculate and build a wooden structure, which will then be tested. The construction of the structure is subject to rules, as the shape and dimensions. The bridge will be subjected to an increasing load until its rupture, with the winner to achieve higher specific load value.
   It is intended to motivate students for application of subjects studied in the areas of Mechanics of Materials, Mechanics, Materials Science and Design, a practical and integrated approach, through extra curricular work.
  The aim is also to promote an academic living space in an educational event where the basic theme is Technology.
